As a certified workaholic, who struggles to place rest above achievement, I’ve watched countless videos like this.
But this one hit different.
Here’s 2 things she said that stood out to me:
Rushing is a form of resistance.
- It doesn’t get you ahead.
- It keeps you behind.
This hit me.
I find being addicted to work, is more than just wanting to be hyper-productive and being a goal-digger.
It’s a significant fear of falling behind, so great that you sacrifice everything possible to stay ahead - including sacrificing yourself.
She also said:
Rushing won’t get you there faster, it will just exhaust you before you arrive.
This one hit home.
- Every early morning.
- Every late night.
- Every project.
- Every meeting.
- Every zoom call.
- Every attempt to get ahead, is actually holding you back.
Grinding harder, doesn’t get you closer to your goal… it pushes your goal away.
This video felt like 7 months on therapy in 7 minutes.
